Nature: A rosebud in my Mother’s garden. All ready to explode into a full-blown bloom. And the Sun gently caressing it…

Cats: One-Eye is one of the feral cats who live around my Mother’s abode. So far she’s survived 3 harsh winters, at least 3 litters, 2 cullings of the local feral feline population (by local vets because of an infectious disease), the local fox population, the odd hunter and the infection that took her eye when she was but a kitling. She is in the prime of her life, despite the maimed eye, and knows that when there are humans about there is food to be had. She does remain aloof though and may not be approached.

Both are wonderful! Your mother’s rose is lovely. That feral cat looks like he’d be at home inside!

One-Eye is a striking girl—she looks a lot like my Ocie. (Ocie=O.C. Outside Cat. She’s now sleeping on the bed, which shows you how much stock to put in a name . . . )
